Home Alone!

We have had our last tenant move out yesterday.  We have had someone renting a room in our house since the first two monthes we lived here.  Now that we are the only ones who live here we have been celebrating; load music in the morning and latter I think I’ll hang out in one of the rooms.  We have a lot of things to look forward to over the next few weeks.  Tonight is a new play in town, Sunday is brew day; we will be having lots of guest soon so I am making enough beer and bread for everyone.  Next week is the Seward Music festival which I am very excited about.

April is quite, quite well at the moment.  She has me cleaning the house with a fervency and scope not befor experienced by myself.  We have discovered the rusty door school of prego movement. Sitting to standing, left to right side, lying to upright, squeaky door noise from April.  It help when I can.  Baby is active, except when it hears me, then it sits quietly and listens carefully.  Our chickens are cranking out eggs at six a day.  We are awash in them.  Rain and wind in Alaska.  It’s beautiful.  Paul

School, Work and Baby

Hi Everyone,

We are heading quickly into winter, already it is dark when I am getting up for school. We have had about 10 days of nearly continuous rain which is a bit much. Paul has been very excited to install a new on-demand water heater, which we are hoping will lower our energy consumption and costs this winter.

School is going really well. I am lucky to have another great class of fourth graders and I am busy organizing someone to take over my class when I am away on maternity leave. The children are very curious about the baby and want to take a poll to see whether it is a boy or girl. I am starting a University course next week to get the required multicultural Alaska credit to retain my teacher certification. It is a distance education course that I can complete at my own pace so I plan to get it done before the baby is due.

Paul is winding down for the season. Business has been erratic for the last couple of weeks. Mostly it is slow but he had his best day all season on the last Friday of August so he isn’t ready to close up shop just yet.

The baby is growing and still very active. I just got back from my 30 week appointment and was pleased to hear the baby has turned. Hopefully it will stay that way now. The doctor was happy with my blood pressure, weight, etc so fingers crossed things continue to go well.

Hope everyone is well. We enjoy reading the comments you leave!
