Hi Everyone!

Well as you can see the baby has been doing nothing but growing this last month! I am wearing the same top as in the six month photo and it is obvious how much has changed. I have finally reached the pillar! Only four more weeks until the baby is due and I have the rest of this week and two more weeks at school before I am away on maternity leave.

No more bear attacks on our chickens, although the bears have been running rampant around town including strolling down town passed bars and restaurants on the main street and even going inside one of the hotels in town!  They are getting very brazen, but they should be heading up the mountain soon to get a den ready for winter.

We hope everyone is well,

Love April and Paul

Baby Shower, Bear and Visitors

Last Sunday I had my baby shower that my mother in law, Mary, and some of my friends threw for me. It was really great, and we all had a nice time. It was a beautiful sunny day and I was very spoilt with lots of lovely things.

This last week we have had two of our friends from England staying. I taught with Fiona in England and she and her finace Mark have been doing some travelling. They left from here to head to Fiji to get married so we were a pre-honeymoon. They were treated to the full spectrum of weather while they were here, everything from beautiful sunny days to snow! We enjoyed a bike ride and a trip to Exit Glacier with them.

We had a very traumatic afternoon today when we discovered a black bear in our back yard. It was systematically chasing and then devouring our hens. Luckily we managed to scare it off before it ate too many, but it did get two which was very upsetting. It was back again this evening trying to get into the coop so we are not hopeful for our chickens life span now that it has a taste for them.

The baby has only five weeks till it is due to make an appearance so we are starting to get more and more excited/anxious/nervous/excited. I have a list of things I want done before baby gets here so we are both busy getting things done. I finally found a substitute to teach my class while I am on maternity leave. She is an experienced teacher, who I am happy to leave my class with. This is a big relief since I only have four more weeks of school. p9280754.JPGp9280749.JPGp9280765.JPG

Hope everyone is well! Love April and Paul
