Teeth!
Just in case they are not immediately apparent, they are on the bottom in the front!
Anniversary Rafting Trip
Paul and I enjoyed celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary with a trip to Hope for white water rafting. We had a great day out on the river and it was very exciting. We rafted through three canyons. The first were only grade three and four and that was plenty exciting for me, the last canyon was a grade five and it was awesome! We nearly flipped a couple of times but all managed to stay in, although things got a little tense at one point! We had my first night away from Isla which was a bit of a milestone. She did just fine with her Grandma and Grandad and Aunty Rachel, although she was very pleased to see us when we arrived home Tuesday morning. Here are a few photos, one of the rafting and one of us in Hope. (Okay, so the rafting photo isn’t actually us! I got it off their website since we were unable to take any photos but you get the idea!
Peaches Yuck!
The other day I bought Isla, at great expense, some peaches to try. I was sure she would love them but as you can see from the photos they were not a hit at all. This is the first food she has not liked so far and I was very surprised to find it was peaches she chose not to eat! Initially she just screwed up her face, then when I continued to try to feed them to her she spat them out and even gagged!

Eight Months Today
Isla turned 8 months today! We have been doing lots of videoing lately, she keeps doing new tricks that we are trying to capture. We will be putting up a selection of videos over the next few days. Turns out it is very tricky to take photos of her new teeth! She isn’t all that obliging about opening her mouth for the camera. It doesn’t help that her teeth are still tiny either!
Torturous Tummy Time
On Monday Isla’s first two teeth were spotted. They are still tiny, but as soon as we get a photo of them we will put it up! Isla has been spending a lot more time on her tummy. She still sometimes acts as though it is a form of baby torture, but is starting to see that she can do quite a lot from her tummy. She is still very lazy with her rolling and we have only seen her do it about 15 times in total, but yesterday she rolled from her front to her back and then onto her front again so she is making progress.
Here are a few tummy time photos. Demonstrating how much fun tummy time is.

Resting, since it is an exhausting business!

Showing off her flexible back!

Close up, brave cat and out to lunch
The other day, while I had Isla sitting on my lap, Evie decided she wanted to come and have cuddles too. This, despite the giant baby continually trying to ‘pat’ her!
Once Evie had been played with enough by Isla, she turned her attention to the camera string. Here is an extreme close up of Isla grabbing and then sucking on the cord.
While I was making dinner the other night I put Isla on the floor in front of the plastic containers cupboard. She had a wonderful time pulling everything out and scattering it all over the floor- lucky that cupboard needed a clean out anyway!
Yesterday we went for a drive over to Kenai, while we were there we enjoyed lunch at a brewpub. Here are Paul and Isla in the restaurant.
