Isla Showing Off Her New Way Of Getting Around

10 Months!

We had a very nice weekend this week. Friday night we all went out on a Kenai Fjord boat for a vendor appreciation meal and cruise. We had a very tasty meal of King crab legs and prime rib. We also won a pair of movie tickets and a night at the Hilton in Anchorage. Here we are posing in Thumb Cove.

Over the weekend the Seward Music and Arts Festival was on. Paul was announcing down there for most of Saturday so Isla and I walked down to check out the music and arts stalls during the day too. It was really good, with lots of people and a diverse range of acts.
Saturday evening we had a meal at the Tougas house for Grandpa’s 80th birthday. Grandpa’s Ninilchik relations came over for the evening too. This was not taken on Saturday night but here is a recent one of Grandpa and Isla.

We have had a nice lazy Sunday today. Paul, Isla, Evie and I all went for a walk around the new disk golf course. Paul won the round with 47 shots but I was close behind on 48. We both need to work on our putting. A disk golfA disk golf cropped
Evie insists on coming for our walks too which is pretty cute. She usually likes to act like a teenager and pretends it is just coincidence we are there where she just happens to be going too! She likes to fall behind so she can come galloping passed us. A evie
We have been having a lot of fun with our 10 month old. After four months of barely a roll she has suddenly decided it is a good way to get around and get into things. So she is rolling constantly around the floor and can be at one side of the carpet and moments later the other side of the room. Our stair guard is up and we are kept busy moving things out of reach. Here she is in the shopping bag. A bag

I hit a bear in the head with a rock

This Sunday we had a visitor that was eyeing up the chickens. We were able to dissuade it from dining in at our place. As you can see the horn and yelling didn’t bother it much so I nailed it in the head, this seemed to work. Paul

Our Garden!

Paul and I are pretty proud of our garden this year. To fully appreciate the work we have done you need to revisit the video we made in July 2008. Here are a bunch of photos of our flowers and veges. garden 11garden 10

Isla feeding herself is a messy business

Isla is doing pretty well with the spoon. It mostly makes it to her mouth fairly intact, although she hasn’t quite mastered scooping the next mouthful just yet. Messy eating

Although as you can see the spoon doesn’t get straight into her mouth first pop. This mouthful went nose, check and then mouth!!

Isla and the toy basket

A love story.

Watch for the appearance of the cat!

New Games

Isla has started playing lots of new games including pulling all the tissues out of the tissue box, putting a basket on her head to pull off to play peek a boo, and grabbing the cat’s tail at every opportunity to put in her mouth. And all this before she can move very far or fast, we are going to get very busy once she is on the move! She spent all day rolling around on the carpet grabbing anything she could get her hands on.

“There she is!”

Evie foolishly kept getting too close today and Isla had a great time trying to eat her tail.

Isla was very helpful when I was working on some sewing this morning. She was either grabbing the material or getting her hands on the tape measure.

Moving

This is a ten minute clip of Isla playing on the carpet. She likes sitting up because she has that down pat, but she has to learn to crawl so we persist with torturous tummy time. Here is a little of it.
